I love mathematics and the sciences, and enjoy teaching these subjects at Lincoln High School, in the growing town of Lincoln, California. I am currently teaching ALgebra 2, Precalculus and Calculus B/C. My prior experience as a real-time systems software engineer gives me substantial practical experience and allows me to discuss the many uses of mathematics with my students. I have practical computer experience in many other areas as well, including website development, C/C++ programming, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and others. You can read about some of my prior work experience by clicking "Code Examples," Software Experience," or "Algorithm Examples" above. I am fairly fluent in Spanish and have worked extensively with Latino students who have not mastered the English language, but are willing to learn mathematics. I maintain a website for the benefit of my students and their parents (http://www.sonic.net /MrRoberts). The students can view assignments, schedules, and grades, and the parents can see what homework their child has, and keep up with his/her grade. I also provide a mechanism for the parents to contact me by e-mail. I believe communication between teacher, parent and student is crucial for optimal student performance. If
you have a child in one of my classes, I encourage you to regularly visit
my classroom website at http://www.sonic.net/MrRoberts.
If you will send me a note or e-mail, I will also send
you a weekly e-mail that discusses the activities of the class. |
